Mindfulness meditation is definitely not controlling thoughts nor fabricating them, but acknowledging them as they arrive into our minds.Salinyahttp://mindfulness-workout.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154617195762059961.post-54501098633744930062011-04-30T09:04:07.225-04:002011-04-30T09:04:07.225-04:00I live with chronic pain, and it's good to hea...I live with chronic pain, and it's good to hear someone say that meditation isn't a means to avoid pain in the body. Through meditation, I've learned how to accept my body. The pain hasn't left me; it just is--a part of me no different than the color of my eyes or the size of my feet.JL Kulakowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05659436203170400230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154617195762059961.post-43443119825649221072011-04-20T10:56:01.914-04:002011-04-20T10:56:01.914-04:00Hi - I am certainly glad to discover this. And usually the people I talk with already have a picture of what "right" looks like. Letting go of preconceived (old) ideas and our desire not to make any mistakes can go a long way in overcoming the initial stages of meditative resistance. As one of my teachers used to say, there is no such thing as a "bad" meditation.
By the way, just finished reading Train Your Mind, CHange Your Brain by Sharon Begley ... a good read, and very informative. Neuroplasticity is one reason meditation works so well to restructure our minds and brains -- it works!

JJ Runnion~JJ Runnionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16884922495219366103noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5154617195762059961.post-77026256721102927232011-04-14T20:41:44.145-04:002011-04-14T20:41:44.145-04:00Thanks Kevin!
